How to Make 5K/Month as a Social Media Manager
Tired of undercharging and overworking? Want to have 5K Social Media Management months like yesterday?
This blog post is for you.
Whatever your monthly revenue goals are, there are a few ways to get there. For a 5K month…
You could have 10 clients paying you $500 each.
You could have 5 clients paying you $1000 each.
You could have 2 clients paying you $2500 each.
Which sounds better?
Let us tell you, managing 10 clients as a freelance social media manager with a team of one is going to be nearly impossible. Not only is there just not enough time in the day, you will be so creatively drained that you’ll end the day frustrated and exhausted - not the kind of job we’re after.
We want to empower you to see your value. And trust us, social media managers are worth way more than $500 a month. The value/strategy that you can add to a business is worth way more than $500 a month.
Shift your client goals from wanting to bring on anyone and everyone and take on a quality over quantity approach. Does this take more time? Yes. Does this take more strategy? Yes. Does this take more effort when it comes to building your own SMM business? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes.
So how do you actually get the clients willing to pay $2500/month for social media management? You’re looking for the clients who see the value of social media - those who don’t want to bring on an agency (hello overhead fees), but who also are ready to have social media management off of their plate. If you are ready to move your social media management passion from hobby/idea to an actual business, you need to start treating it that way. Invest in your business the way you want your clients to invest in you:

Doubting that your strategy and skill lives up to a $2500 retainer fee? Our Social Media Manager 101 course is for you. Get ready to up-level. Sign up for our email list to be first to know about our next SMM course launch.
P.S. If you already have a client roster filled with the $500/month clients - send them a price increase email, one by one. We know that you have bills to pay so hiking your prices with the potential of losing all your clients at once isn’t going to work. But if you know you’re underpaid, create a “price increase” email and send it off to your clients - starting with those red flag clients that are most likely draining you and not worth what they are paying you. And we know hitting send on this email is insanely scary, we’ve been there. But if you let fear hold you back from getting paid what you’re worth, you’ll be underpaid and overworked for decades.
